Mutiplication by 99

We can multiply any number with 99 using following Vedic mathematics Techniques.

Consider one example 987678 x 99
    1. Subtract one from multiplicand
       i.e. 987677
    
   2. First Group the multiplicand 2 digit each from unit digit place
         i.e.      98  76  77

   3. Write Same group below the first group leaving one group from the left
         i.e.      98    76    77
                            98    76    77
   4. Extreme right group subtract from 99 and remaining part just sutract
       i.e.       98     76     77
                            98     76   77
                 ____________________
                   97    78      01    22
                _____________________

   5. Final Answer is = 97780122

Criss-Cross System of Multiplication for 2 Digit numbers



Finding Amount in one's Pocket (Funny Maths)

1. Ask the audience to consider amount in his pocket. (Only Rupees not paisa)
2. Add 5 to it.
3. Multiply the answer by 5
4. Double the answer
5. Ask the audience to add any one favorite  number between 0 to 9.
6. Finally Add 10 to answer.

Example:
1. Ask the audience to consider amount in his pocket. (Only Rupees not paisa) (100)
2. Add 5 to it. (100+5=105)
3. Multiply the answer by 5 (105 * 5 = 525)
4. Double the answer (525 *2=1050)
5. Ask the audience to add any one favorite  number between 0 to 9. (1050+1=1051)
6. Finally Add 10 to answer. (1061)

Solution:
Discard the unit digit. (in above example from 1061 discard 1)
From the remaining digit subtract 6. (106-6=100...That's Answer)

Finding Month & Day of Date of Birth of a Person (Funny Maths)



Procedure:
1. Consider the month number of the date of birth (1 for January, 2 for February, 3 for March 4 for April,..)
2. Double it.
3. Add 5 to answer.
4.  Multiply the answer by 5.
5. Multiply  the answer by 10.
6. Add day if the date of birth to answer.
7. Tell the final answer to the speaker.

Example:
1. Consider the month number of the date of birth (9 for September)
2. Double it. (9*2=18)
3. Add 5 to answer. (18+5=23)
4.  Multiply the answer by 5. (23*5=115)
5. Multiply  the answer by 10. (115*10=1150)
6. Add day if the date of birth to answer. (25 as day of date of birth-1150+25=1175)
7. Tell the final answer to the speaker. (1175)


Solution:
 Divide Answer in to two parts. First part is unit and 10 place digit. Second part 100th or 1000th place ( if exist). In above example 11/75. 75-50=25, Corresponds to  Day of date of birth. 11-2= 9, Corresponds to  Month of date of birth. So September 25 is the Answer. This is true for all the cases. If first part is less than 50 speaker should reply  "You Made Mistake

Description of a Apartment/House (Funny Maths)

1. Ask the audience to consider no of  Bed room/s
2. Double it
3. Add 2 to answer
4.Multiply the answer  by 5
5. Add 5 to the answer
6. Multiply the answer by 10.
7. Add 10 to Answer.
8. Add no of kitchens and halls (Assuming 1 kitchen and I hall)

Example:
1. Ask the audience to consider no of  Bed room/s  (1)
2. Double it (2)
3. Add 2 to answer (2+2)
4.Multiply the answer  by 5 (4 x 5=20)
5. Add 5 to the answer (20+5=25)
6. Multiply the answer by 10. (25 x 10 =250)
7.  Add 10 to Answer. (250+10=260)
8. Add no of kitchens and halls (Assuming 1 kitchen and I hall)   (260+2=2)

Answer:
    Usually in this procedure Answer will be 262, 362, 462, 562 etc.From this subtract 2. Answer will be 260 or 360 or 460 or 560 etc.  Unit and tenth digit always 0 and 6 respectively. or last two digit 60. Remove the last 2 digit (60). From the 100th  place digit subtract 1. In above example 2-1=1. 1BHK  House. (In this always kitchen and Hall are assumed as 1 each)

 Speed Maths Method
 'multiply the previous digit 6 by one more than itself .
    Multiply last digits viz. (5x5) and write down 25 to the right of 42 viz. (6x7) = 4225

Funny Maths: Writing Answer without asking Question

Tell the audience to give any 5 digit number. After taking another four 5 digit number, final answer you can able to tell.

How it works?

   Its very simple.  Subtract 2 from the first number. Put the subtracted number (i.i. 2) to the extreme left hand side of the answer. Speaker will write the answer by subtracting each digit of audience told number from 9.
(for example-34567, 9-3=6, 9-4=5, 9-5=4, 9-6=3, 9-7=2. 
Amazing right?
          

Multiplication involving series of 1's and equal no of digits in multiplicand & multiplier

Multiplication involving series of 1's and equal no of digits in multiplicand & multiplier is very easy to do.
For example.

Its very simple. Count number of digits in multiplicand or multiplier. Then start from natural number 1 in ascending order till the digit count. After that start descending order till number 1.

Funny Maths-Finding No of Son/s and Daughter/s or Brother/s and Sisters

Steps/Procedure:
    1. Ask the person to consider no of son/s or brother/s
    2. Add 3 to it.
    3. Multiply the answer by 5
    4. Add 20 to it.
    5. Double the Answer
    6. Add number of daughter/s or sister/s to previous answer
    7. Finally add 1.

Example:
        1. No of Son-                                1
        2. Add 3 to it. -                          1+3=4
        3. Multiply the answer by 5-      4 x 5 =20
        4. Add 20 to it.                         20 + 20 =40
        5. Double the Answer               40 + 40 =80
        6. Add number of daughter/s to previous answer                      80+1=81
        7. Finally add 1.                                                                      81+ 1 =82


Answer:
  Tell the audience to tell final answer. In Answer unit position corresponds to Daughter. 10 or 100 position corresponds to son. (From unit position subtract 1 and from 10 or 100 position subtract 7). If final answer less than 71 tell to audience as "You made Wrong Calculations". This can be also used to find no of brothers and sisters a person has.
